Firestore Data Analyzer — Chrome Extension
Last updated: July 18, 2026

Overview

Firestore Data Analyzer ("the Extension") is a Chrome extension that helps developers explore, analyze, and export data from their own Firebase Firestore databases.

The Extension is a local-only tool. Your data flows directly between your browser and your own Firebase project. The Extension has no servers, includes no analytics or tracking of any kind, and never transmits anything to us or to any third party.

Data We Collect

We collect nothing. Everything the Extension handles stays in your browser:

1. Firebase Configuration (stored locally)

The Extension captures your Firebase project configuration (API key, project ID, etc.) from the Firebase Console page you visit. This data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API and is never sent to our servers — we do not have any. It is used solely to connect to your own Firestore database.

2. Firestore Data (processed locally)

When you browse collections, the Extension reads documents from your Firestore database using your credentials. This data is processed entirely in your browser for display, aggregation, and export. We never access, store, or transmit your Firestore data.

3. Authentication Credentials

If you sign in using email/password, your credentials are sent directly to Firebase Authentication (a Google service) and are never intercepted, stored, or seen by us. The Extension only stores your email locally to pre-fill the login field for convenience.

4. Local Usage Log (never transmitted)

The Extension keeps a small log of recent feature usage (for example "extension opened" or "export performed") in your browser's local extension storage, used only for local troubleshooting. This log never leaves your browser: the Extension makes no network calls to any analytics service, and there is no opt-in prompt because there is nothing to opt into. Uninstalling the Extension deletes the log.

Third-Party Services

The Extension communicates only with:

No other endpoints are contacted — no analytics providers, no update pings, no error reporting.
